
MG M9 Set to Launch as India’s Latest Premium All-Electric MPV, Promising Luxury, Advanced Features, and a New Era in Sustainable Mobility
MG Motor India is gearing up to make waves in the electric passenger vehicle market with the launch of the MG M9, a three-row luxury electric MPV. Positioned to compete directly with models like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire, the MG M9 will be sold through the brand’s exclusive MG Select retail network, which will also retail the upcoming Cyberster electric roadster.
This marks a significant milestone as the M9 is MG’s first electric people carrier in India, being introduced as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The car was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2025, with bookings opened in May at a token amount of ₹51,000. The official price announcement is scheduled for July 21.

MG M9: Powerful Electric Performance
The MG M9 is powered by a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a claimed range of 500 km on a single charge. Performance specs include:
- Front-mounted electric motor generating 245 bhp and 350 Nm of torque
- Top speed of 180 km/h
- Full AC charging (5% to 100%) takes around 8.5 hours using an 11 kW charger
- DC fast charging enables 30% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes
