Amara Raja and Atul Greentech Collaborate to Advance EV Batteries and Charging Tech for India’s Growing Electric Mobility

In a significant development for India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, Atul Greentech, the electric mobility arm of Atul Auto, has entered into a strategic partnership with Amara Raja Group, one of the country’s leading energy and mobility solutions providers. This collaboration marks a key milestone in advancing indigenous EV technologies aligned with India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision.

As per an official statement released on Tuesday, the partnership will focus on the development and supply of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and EV chargers for Atul Greentech’s electric three-wheelers. The scope of the alliance also includes cell development and advanced chemistry cell technology, ensuring a future-ready approach to sustainable mobility solutions.

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), Atul Greentech Private Limited, and Amara Raja Power Systems Limited in Ahmedabad, solidifying the terms of the collaboration.

Importantly, the battery packs will be manufactured at Amara Raja’s state-of-the-art Giga Corridor facility in Divitipalli, Telangana, further bolstering domestic manufacturing capabilities in the EV sector.

Speaking on the partnership, Vijay Kedia, Director at Atul Auto Limited, said, “Amara Raja and Atul Greentech have built a strong, mutually beneficial relationship over the years. This new chapter in our collaboration enhances our commitment to India’s EV journey and strengthens our resolve to deliver sustainable mobility solutions.”

Vijayanand Samudrala, President – New Energy at Amara Raja Energy and Mobility, echoed similar sentiments, stating, “Amara Raja is committed to playing a pivotal role in India’s energy transition. Our partnership with Atul Greentech exemplifies how collaborative innovation can accelerate the shift to clean transportation.” India EV, we see this alliance as a step forward not only for both companies involved but also for the broader Indian EV landscape. With a clear focus on localization, technological advancement, and clean energy, partnerships like these are laying the foundation for a self-reliant and electrified India.
